A Musical Christmas Celebration

The Music Ministry of First Christian Church presents: Sunday, December 16, 2012, 10:45 a.m. Children and Youth Choir Burnside Bell Choir Jan Shelton, Director Mary Mason, Director Chancel Choir and Guest Singers Charles Duke, Director The three choirs are excited to share their unique presentations of both secular and sacred music in the morning service.

Worship services at FCC Fort Worth are enhanced every Sunday by beautiful music provided by the chancel choir, handbell choir and children’s choirs. The choirs not only provide music for the church congregation but have also performed all over Fort Worth and as far away as Vermont and New York.

Senior Minister of Music - Charles E. Duke


Charles E. Duke has degrees in music from Texas Wesleyan University and Texas Christian University.  He is known for his choirs both at Castleberry High School, where he taught for many years, and at First Christian Church where he has led the music programs for over 40 years.

Burnside Handbell Choir Director - Mary Mason


Mary Mason has a degree from Texas Wesleyan University. Mary leads the bells in prociding special worship music each month.

Director of Music for Children and Youth - Jan Shelton

Jan Shelton has music degrees from Texas Wesleyan University and Texas Christian University. She is retired from the Fort Worth Independent School District.  At First Christian Church she directs three choirs: The Cherub Choir for pre-schoolers ages 4-5, the Choristers for kindergarten – 4th graders, and the Youth Chorale for 5th – 12th graders.
